How a Holistic Case Conceptualization Can Improve Your Practice
This Training offers an introduction to the significant therapeutic impact of a strong case conceptualization approach emphasizing the following theoretical orientations: Attachment and Neurodevelopment, Somatic Psychology, and Memory Reconsolidation.
Objectives
- Establish a thorough understanding of case conceptualization and the impact that it has on the success and safety of any model of psychotherapy.
- Increase conceptualization skills with an emphasis on interpreting symptoms and behavior through a developmental and nervous system informed perspective.
- Introduce participants to a clinical approach to case conceptualization that is trauma informed and focused on the impact of past experience on present behavior, while also identifying and addressing barriers to the therapeutic process.
- Increase the therapist's awareness of the relational impact of trauma and the opportunity of the therapeutic alliance to be a discomforting experience throughout all the phases of trauma treatment.

Jen Savage is a co-owner of Beyond Healing, a group therapy practice and professional development institute for clinicians around the world. In addition to staying active in her clinical practice and supervision, she devotes her time to writing curriculum, training, consulting, and presenting on a variety of clinical topics such as case conceptualization, EMDR Therapy, dissociation, and working with couples and families. Jen is also the host of the Notice That Podcast with Bridger and one other colleague.
Bridger Falkenstien is a co-owner of Beyond Healing, a group therapy practice and professional development institute for clinicians around the world. He is a writer, trainer, and consultant for the institute in addition to the time he spends in session with clients. Bridger has a doctorate degree in Counselor Education and Supervision and is a professor for the Counseling Psychology program at Missouri State University. He is the producer and host of the Notice That Podcast with Jen and one other colleague.
SIP is designed not only for therapists but also for professionals in fields like education, emergency response, and healthcare, enhancing interdisciplinary communication and treatment efficacy. This training will equip you with a case conceptualization framework, practical worksheets, and case examples, enabling immediate application in clinical settings. By integrating case conceptualization, trauma research, and embodied therapy into one concentric framework, SIP empowers holistic wellness for both therapists and clients. Emphasizing the importance of therapists' well-being, this approach ensures that therapists feel healthy, equipped, and connected to their community, allowing their innate brilliance to shine in their work. Through this training, we hope to foster a renewed interest in the principles underlying effective psychotherapy and provide a common language for clinicians and researchers to connect in their professional and personal growth.
