Is your child or adolescent facing challenges such as anxiety, bullying, or emotional dysregulation that impact family dynamics? Hello, I am Chris Putnam, a licensed marriage and family therapist associate (LMFT-Associate) supervised by Dean Janeff, LMFT-S. I hold a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in child and adolescent family therapy, and I am dedicated to supporting families through Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB) in my private practice. As a trauma therapist, I focus on developmental educational trauma, such as experiences of bullying, academic pressures, teacher and school neglect, or institutional challenges during childhood, and its lasting influence on personal and professional relationships into adulthood. This approach is particularly relevant for parents navigating these issues with their children and adolescents, including those from diverse racial and ethnic minority backgrounds, where systemic barriers may compound relational difficulties. My specialties include ADHD, anger management, anxiety, career counseling, depression, dissociative disorders, divorce, grief and loss, learning disabilities, life transitions, men's issues, oppositional defiance, parenting, premarital counseling, relationship issues, school issues, self-harming, suicidal ideation, developmental trauma, and single-event trauma. I am Internal Family Systems (IFS), currently completing NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) Therapist training, and I integrate Polyvagal Theory and psychodynamic perspectives to facilitate neural integration, emotional regulation, and secure attachments. As a Fellow in Thanatology from the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC), I also address the profound effects of grief on family bonds, guiding clients toward resilience and healing. My treatment orientations encompass attachment-based therapy, coaching, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gestalt therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), interpersonal therapy, and psychodynamic approaches. I provide services through couples therapy, family therapy, group therapy, individual therapy, and telehealth options, with a primary age focus on children (ages 6 to 10), preteens and tweens (ages 11 to 13), adolescents and teenagers (ages 14 to 19), and adults (ages 20 to 55).
