Nadia Bakir, LMFT-S lives in North Austin with her neurodiverse family and has a private practice in the Brentwood area. She is a polyglot whose world experience allows her to support clients and associates deeply, adding crucial geopolitical context to her multicultural competence. She hopes to bring new contextual awareness to the local therapist community as a passionate clinical supervisor and leader of Austin IN Connection. As Austin continues to grow and diversify, Nadia feels it important to be an immigrant voice of color and make an intentional impact.
She honors AINC’s founders, Sue Marriott and Kat Scherer, whose vision influenced the once niche sciences of Interpersonal Neurobiology and Attachment becoming mainstream parts of our clinical practice. Recognizing how successfully the board’s original had been accomplished, Nadia has chosen to pivot the board’s strategic mission. As current AINC president she remains committed to championing underrepresented areas of therapeutic practice and driving the next generation of clinical awareness.
